[Karaoke night is here, and she's been excited for it the last two days. She hadn't seen Roy the day before due to work, but they text all the time. He always gets back to her when he can. She loves hearing about his day and his coworkers, just like she likes telling him little anecdotes of her own. When the evening finally rolls around, she's bouncy with energy. She puts the finish touches on her makeup and fluffs her perfectly curled hair.
She's wearing a velvet babydoll dress that brushes mid thigh and over the knee boots. She'd spend the last hour getting ready to one of her favorite playlists. She's already been singing and bopping along. When she hears the knock, she happily goes to answer it with a grin. When she sees Roy, she throws herself into his arms for an eager embrace.]
[ Roy Kent isn't exactly known for having a bright and cheery disposition, but ever since their picnic even his co-workers had taken notice of the fact that he was slightly less grumpy than usual. It might not seem like much, but that in combination with the amount of times he's been caught smiling at his phone had everyone around him curious about the shift in his overall mood.
He's equal parts excited to see her again and a little nervous. He's not usually nervous for anything and his way of dealing with it is to keep himself busy, so he after work he spent time at the gym, showered, and cleaned his house. By the time evening rolls around he's checking his phone and practically pacing until it's time to head to her place.
He's dressed in all black again, but this time it's a nicer long sleeved shirt and a leather jacket to go over it. As soon as she opens the door and launches herself into his arms all of his nervousness fades away in a snap, and he's just incredibly happy to see her. He greets her with a hug, then wastes no time in cradling her face in his hands and kissing her like he hasn't seen her in weeks. ]
Been thinking about doing that all day.
[ He smiles and steps back to appreciate how she looks. ] Fucking hell. You're gorgeous. [ And with that he takes her hand and leads them down the street in the direction of the karaoke bar. ]
[Alexis isn't always good at hiding her excitement. She's so expressive from her face to the animated way her hands move. When she sees Roy, she can't help herself. She's just so happy to see him that she launches herself at him. Before she can think twice about what she's done, his strong arms are hugging her close before her sets her down to kiss her properly. She loves the way he cradles her face to kiss her, and fuck, it was a hell of a kiss. Like he'd been at war and he's finally home to see his gal.
She's smiling against the kiss, eyes bright when he pulls back. She licks her lips to taste what lingers of him there.]
How did you get anything done?
[She's only partly teasing. She knows he's busy with his work just like she is. She does a little twirl for him as he admires her before she takes his arm and cuddles close. Her door is locked behind her and then they're on their way.]
I love your black on black look. You pull it off so good! [She's like a burst of color next to him. They compliment each other.] How was your day?
Thanks. Next to you I look like the fucking grim reaper, but I think it's working for us.
[ He teases, she really is stunning and the way he keeps looking over at her as they walk definitely makes that clear. The all black is a good contrast to her burst of color, and it's echoed in their personalities as well - their differences definitely complement each other he thinks. ]
Work was decent. Higgins only got on my nerves twice, which is a vast fucking improvement. Called up my niece Phoebe and had a chat, she asked what I was doing tonight and when I told her karaoke she screamed into the phone like a fucking banshee, and is now demanding I take her next time.
[ He grumbles as he says it but really anything Phoebe asks him for, he'll usually cave in. It's a colder evening, so he makes sure to hold Alexis's arm close with his as they walk, transferring his body heat as much as possible. They pass by various shops on the way, one of the owners outside closing up recognizes him and they exchange a nod in passing. In his own neighborhood he's less likely to get someone coming up to him and being obnoxious and shouting his name; which is good because he doesn't like being bothered, even by a well meaning fan, and especially not when he's on his date with her. ]
Hey, if Death is this sexy then there's no reason to be again of it!
[She playfully bumps her hips against his. She's stealing looks over at him just as much as he is. Whenever their eyes meet, she giggles and presses her face into his arm to hide the flush. She listens intently to his day. She tries to imagine what these people look like. Higgins seems like a sweet little old man. Phoebe sounds like a fun little ball of energy. She grins when she hears that she wants to go too.]
They have those kids' karaoke sets that I see on TikTok! The microphone lights up and everything! Maybe you can bring the karaoke to her.
[She's determined to look it up when she next gets a chance. She can find the link and send it to him for her. She likes the way Roy holds her close. In classic Alexis fashion, she's not prepared for the cold. She's just vibing and living her life. So far, it's not bothering her too much though it makes her cheeks a little pinker. She smiles at the people they pass.]
It was good! I did some social media posts for some clients for some sponsors. It's all about posting the right content with the right hash tags. I've set up a meeting with another potential client for later this week! Setting up base over here has been a real game changer.
That would be slightly less painful to endure. She does love to fucking sing. [ Roy very much dotes on his niece, so he makes a mental note, thinking he'll surprise her with it one of these days. ]
Thanks for the idea. [ He presses a kiss to her cheek, noticing when he does so that her skin is a little cool. ] As hot as you fucking look, I don't think the dress is helping keep you warm. here, don't want you catching a cold. [ He shrugs off his jacket and wraps it around her shoulders before there's time to protest. He listens with interest when she talks about her job, grinning when he notices her face light up, a clear indicator that she must really love the work she does. ]
That's fucking great. It's hard work getting clients in a new place. Especially London, it's a fucking madhouse at times. You should be proud. [ His words are said in a genuine, softer tone as he wraps an arm around her and gives her a squeeze, feeling very happy that she decided to set up a base here.
When they arrive at the karaoke place it's basically an assault of bright colorful neon lights and music that can be heard faintly even from the street. The building itself has a bunch of various rooms packed with people, some of them singing very off key, but everyone's too enthusiastic (and probably drunk) to care. ] You ready?
What kind of music does she like? [Alexis us animated and excited. She's curious about Phoebe, partly because of how important she is to Roy, but mostly because she sounds like such a firecracker.
His kiss makes her grin though she pouts and starts to protest when he drops his jacket over her shoulders. She's really not that cold! But his jacket is so warm, and it smells like him. She tries to subtly turn her head to brush her nose along the lapel for a deeper smell. It's like she's enveloped in him. She wonders if his scent will linger on her after this.]
Thank you, Roy. You're such a sweetheart. [Their talk about her work makes her flush with pride. She's really proud of how far she's come. The way he squeezes her and looks at her like he's proud of her too fills her chest with utter, overwhelming affection.] I'm really glad I came out there. It's been life changing.
[In more ways than one. She's growing her base. She's establishing herself. She's met Roy. Life is good. She squeals with delight at the pretty colors and the way they flash. She all but drags him in. Someone is on stage singing Bon Jovi. She drags him to the bar so they can get drinks and look through the song book.] Look at how many choices they have!
Pretty sure Taylor Swift is her favorite. But some songs she's not allowed to listen to. I'll ask my sister which ones. [ Not everything was kid appropriate, but Phoebe did love pop music in general. ]
I'm extremely fucking glad you came here. [ His tone mirrors the same warmth and tenderness he feels radiating from her, feeling for a moment like he could stop in the middle of the street and kiss her for hours and that would be better than anything else they could possibly do the rest of the evening. Well, almost anything.
But karaoke was the plan, and now they were in the thick of it, his hand in hers as she drags him toward the bar and he looks like he's equal parts dreading this decision but also slightly amused by how uninhibited everyone seems to be. Must be the alcohol. With that thought, Roy flags down the bartender and orders himself a beer, then turns to Alexis. ] What'll you have?
[ Once he pays for both their drinks he glances down to flip through the song book, his arm sliding around her waist. ] Alright, whatever we choose we're going to fucking knock these pricks socks off with our duet. [ Said in the same encouraging tone he'd have used to get his team amped up before a match. If they're going to do this, they're going to kill it. He glances over at the stage where the guy is still singing Bon Jovi, much to the delight of the group of friends cheering him on. ]
Christ that's awful. [ He chuckles, no matter what they pick, they'll at least have fun and probably be better than the Bon Jovi guy. ]
She has excellent taste! Oh my god, I can't wait to talk to her about Taylor Swift! [Maybe she can even reach out to Tay for some signed merch or something. She doesn't always answer Alexis, but it's totally understandable. She's a busy woman!
She presses into his embrace as he holds on to her. Roy wraps his arms around her waist, nestling her against his chest. He makes her feel so safe and cared for. She orders a vodka cranberry, but her focus is completely on the song book. A manicured nail goes down the list as she studies each song.]
Oooh, Don't You Want Me is a classic! Or we can do Shallow like Gaga and Bradley! We can probably even do it better honestly.
[She still owes him a live performance of A Little Bit Alexis. Poor Roy. He's really in for it once he realizes how not great she is at singing and dancing.]
She'll fucking love it. [ He can picture the mutual squealing and enthusiastic jumping involved in a conversation between Alexis and Phoebe if they're talking about Taylor Swift, and while his ears might never recover, it's an endearing image and he can't help but smile at the thought of it. It's sweet, and it makes him tug her just a bit closer to him as they're looking over the song book. ]
Shallow's a great song but I don't have that kind of fucking range, let's go with Don't You Want Me.
[ He's not a terrible singer but he's not a particularly good one either. It'll be a nightmare either way, but he figures the two of them attempting a poppy 80's song with his grumpy growly voice and her bubbly one is sure to at least be entertaining. He takes a long drink of his beer as if it's going to somehow help, and let's the bartender know which song they'll be performing.
He figures they'll have a bit of time, maybe someone else will be up next but apparently the bartender recognizes him and thinks he's doing him a favor by letting them go next. The Bon Jovi guy exits to a round of drunken applause and the stage empties out for the two of them. Roy reaches for her hand and nods once, steeling himself for disaster. ]
Shit. Okay. Fuck it, you ready?
i cannot tell you how many times i've watched that scene
Eighties hits are always a classic! Can't go wrong there!
[She's pleased with their song choice and how easily they've come to the decision together. She sucks on the straw to her drink and enjoys the way the vodka makes her feel warm all over. Or maybe it's Roy and his jacket engulfing her and keeping her close. She's swaying in place to the music. The guy singing isn't good, but he's got heart and that goes a long way.
In Alexis' head, she's a total showstopper. She's going to wow this crowd and maybe even get a standing ovation. She hopes Roy isn't intimidated by that. She gasps when it's suddenly they're turn. Squealing, she grabs his hand and drags him up to the stage. People in the crowd recognize him and start a rousing chant for him. She's never heard it before, and her eyes shout up in surprise.]
Oh fucking hell. [ He grumbles under his breath as he's dragged on stage to the chant of he's here he's there he's every-fucking-where Roy Kent! Whatever hopes he had of this being something he could do relatively anonymously are out the door, but it's too late to back down now. Once they're up on the stage there's a brief pause while the guy is keying up the song, Roy grabs one of the microphones and addresses the still chanting crowd. ]
Oi! Shut the fuck up so we can hear the fucking song. If I see any of you pricks recording this I'm coming down there.
[ Accustomed to Roy's unique brand of communication, the crowd isn't phased and instead quiets the chanting down and there are a couple encouraging cheers given for him and Alexis as the music starts playing. Roy looks over at her and grabs her hand for support. They're in it together. Looking at the monitor where the lyrics are, he sings the first few phrases and it's not terrible, he's stiff at first but after fucking up one of the lines and swearing as if it was part of the song, it gets a laugh from the crowd and he feels less awkward and decides to just go with it, he's able to laugh at himself a bit. Once they get to the chorus he looks over at her with an encouraging grin, waiting for her to join in. ]
[Alexis' eyes are wide with delight at the chant. She absolutely loves it. She's going to be singing it to Roy all the time now. She's bouncing on her heels and joining in a little before she dissolves into giggles at his barking reprimand. It's impressive how everyone listens to him. None of them seem at all offended by his attitude.
He takes her take and looks at her. She knows how nervous he is about this, but he's doing it for her. She gives him the biggest smile of encouragement and a thumbs up. When he starts singing, she cheers for him and does a little dance. She loves when he starts to relax, he gets even better. She joins in the chorus with little shoulder shimmy shakes.
When she sings her verse, it's not exactly great. Alexis is off key, but she's got the melody. She has no idea she's not as good as she thinks she is, and it's the confidence that really carries the performance. She's tossing her hair back and forth and bouncing like a maniacal ball of energy. The crowd gives a laugh because she's delightfully bad, and they think she's simply owning it.
But when she smiles at Roy, it's clear that's all she sees. She sings the chorus with passion, never taking her eyes off of him.]
[ Roy's confidence is bolstered by the crowd's enthusiasm and especially by Alexis's overall attitude and her support. He looks over at her dancing and shimmying and bouncing around and breaks from singing a couple times because he's laughing and geniunely enjoying himself. Letting loose and being silly are not things he gets to do often, or lets himself do. This is definitely a shift from his norm but he's not complaining. She brings out a side of him that few people get to see.
When it's her verse to sing, he turns to the crowd and gives them an encouraging gesture, making sure they give her the proper reception. Which they do, of course, cheering her on with enthusiasm. And while neither she or Roy are very good singers the crowd goes with it regardless; he thinks this is entirely due to her being confident and him being intimidating. It's a mix that works strangely well.
The rest of the song plays out and by the end Roy's facing Alexis as if it's just the two of them singing to each other, the crowd fades out as he focuses on her and her smile. He only notices the song's stopped when the music fades and is replaced by a cheering, clapping audience. He glances at at the crowd then back at her, a broad smile on his face as he's entirely caught up in the moment. ]
[It's so much fun. She's having a blast. The crowd is vibing with them, and best of all, Roy is enjoying himself. By the end of the song, they only have eyes for each other. She's pretty sure she can get lost in his eyes. They're actually getting a standing ovation. Squealing, she wraps him up in her arms for a kiss which only makes the crowd go crazier. Tongues are definitely going to be wagging about Roy Kent's new bird.
When she pulls back, she takes her microphone and gestures for the crowd to quiet. She's not ready to get off stage. Thanks to Roy's fame, they're not rushed off for the next person to sing.]
I would like to dedicate this very special performance of A Little Bit Alexis to Roy. Just like I promised.
[The crowd quiets and watches. There's no music to back her up on this, but she doesn't need it. She hurriedly strikes the right pose, hands in her hair. She nods to herself a few times as if she's counting herself in and then it starts. The singing, the dancing, it's all there.]
Are you ready? Let's do it! I'm a Lamborghini, I'm a Hollywood star. I'm a little bit tipsy when I drive my car. I'm expensive sushi, I'm cute huge yacht. I'm a little bit single even when I'm not.
[Her expression is selling the whole thing. Or trying to. She knows every mood by memory from the drops and the hip shakes and grand arm gestures. As the chorus hits, she's proudly belting.]
[ There's a series of various cheers and whistles from the crowd when they're sharing their kiss, but Roy barely pays any them any mind. There would be some type of story run about it tomorrow most likely, but right now all of his focus is on her as he kisses her back with his arms around her waist, lifting her up in the process.
When she dedicates the song to him, he places a hand over his heart and bows his head a bit to show that clearly this is an honor; teasing but he's also smiling and genuinely looking forward to the performance.
When she starts singing and dancing, and with no backup music at that, the crowd is quiet initially; but once she drops down and then starts belting the chorus they're along with her for the journey. Probably a little bit because they're drunk, and because they're taking Roy's cue as he stands there looking at her with a combination of amusement and adoration, as if this is the greatest performance he's ever seen. Having played football most of his life, he's well aware what the energy from a crowd can do, and right now they're absolutely pumped. Turns out a karaoke crowd is probably the best possible group of people she could have debuted her performance in front of.
When there's a break they immediately start cheering and clapping, and Roy joins in as well, his hands above his head as he applauds her. ]
That was fucking brilliant. [ He tells her, his voice nearly drowned out by the crowd. They're still cheering when announces into the mic - ] Alexis fucking Rose, everyone. [ More cheers, whistles. ]
Alright now fuck off back to your drinks.
[ With that he takes her hand as they exit the stage and he leads her over to sit at one of the booths. He smiles at her once they're seated and reaches out to tuck her hair behind her ear. ] Exceeded all of my expectations to be fucking honest, you were fucking great.
[She's eating it all up. Alexis is a performer at heart even if life didn't always turn out that way for her. She's thriving on the cheers and applause, but the best part is Roy. He can't take his eyes off of her. There's a brightness to his dark gaze that's all because of her. His applause is the best thing she's ever had.
She gives a grand bow and a curtesy for the crowd, blowing kisses at them. Some people have recorded this whole thing on their phone, and it's blowing up on social media as they speak. Online, people are already debating if #Roylexis is the proper ship name or if it's #KentRose. She'll get to all that tomorrow. Right now, she's jumping into his arms and giggly raucously. He leads her to a booth where they can sit quietly, just the two of them. She leans into his touch, still glowing.]
Enough about me! Look at you! You got up there and sang your British little heart out! You were amazing! You had nothing to be worried about.
[ The bartender comes over and sets fresh drinks on their table, on the house apparently, and Roy thanks him as he walks off. The next singer is readying to get on stage and the music starts playing; fortunately their booth is far enough away from the stage that they don't have to shout to hear each other. ] I was moderately not fucking terrible. [ He grumbles with a laugh. ]
But I don't care, it was fucking fun. Pretty sure I saw some people recording but I figured it'd ruin the flow if I hopped off the stage and made good on my fucking threat.
[ That and he doesn't really care if they were recorded, he might want to re-watch it himself at some point because it's been a hell of a third date so far. He realizes he still has her hand in his and gives it a squeeze, they're sitting close together in the booth, the neon lights casting colorful shadows everywhere. It's not exactly a traditionally romantic environment but he can't help but feel that way around her. ] This was a good fucking idea. Been around a lot of crowds, who knew karaoke bars had the best ones.
[She's flushed and breathless. As they sit in the booth, she slips closer next to him until they're pressed against one another. She doesn't mind a bit that they're still holding hands. Alexis beams at the bartender and thanks him for their fresh drinks. She takes a sip because she's parched after all that singing and dancing.]
You were wonderful! [She's insistent on that. She leans in and kisses his cheek dotingly.]
So would you want to do it again? [She waggles her brows at him.] The crowd loved you! And that chant? I didn't realize how big of a deal you are!
Thanks. [ He grins at her praise as she's kissing his cheek, slipping an arm around her waist because it feels like the most natural thing in the moment, he likes having her pressed close to him. ]
I think the crowd loved you more than me, but that's well earned, I didn't have a fucking original dance number to offer them.
[ He shrugs at her comment of him being a big deal. ] Around here I am, but it's mostly because this community is fucking feral about AFC Richmond. Which is great when we're winning, but they're not shy about letting us know when they think we're fucking it all up. [ Said with a chuckle, he takes it mostly in stride. It's a career that requires a certain level of tolerance for criticism, which he's pretty good with. ]
I wouldn't be surprised if people shout 'a little bit Alexis' at you after tonight.
[She melts into his side. He's warm and smells so damn good. Alexis sips at her drink. It's hard for her to sit still because she's so full of happiness. She's wiggly next to him. She's riding the high of their performance and just being with Roy and his joy from singing too.]
They loved us equally. [And if they don't, she'll make up the love herself for him.] At least you know their love for you is earned, and they're not scared to let you know if you're fucking up. It's kinda like family, right?
[Her eyes light up at the thought of people singing her song to her. That sounds so cool to her. It's a level of awesome she's never quite reached in life.] You think so?
Yeah, well we make a good team. [ He says with a smile as he takes a drink of his beer. She's warm against his side and he can't quite place the scent of her but it's floral almost and he hopes it lingers on his clothes. ] We might have to make another appearance, you know, give the people what they want. Not tonight though, I'm still riding the fucking wave of our first performance.
[ When she mentions the community being like a family his face softens a bit, realizing she's referencing one of their earlier conversations. It makes him feel warm to know that she really listens, not that he didn't expect her to; but it's not as common as it should be to find someone that does. He presses a spontaneous kiss to her cheek in response. ] It's a bit like family, yeah.
[ Watching her face light up is incredibly endearing, and he nods and responds with assurance - ] Fuck yes. One, it's fucking catchy as hell, and two, they've recorded it so it's likely to turn up on everyone's social media. Just don't leave me in the dust when you sky rocket to fame.
[ As they sit and enjoy their drinks, the sounds of the bar fades into a dull hum and he finds himself drawn to her the way he felt during their picnic date. It's like her proximity just tugs at something in him and he can't help but want to touch her, so while his arm is around her waist his free hand rests on her thigh, his palm against the bare skin between the hem of her dress and her over the knee boots. ]
We've got to leave them wanting more. That's one of the biggest rules in PR. Never oversaturate the market. [The world is fickle. Too much of a good thing can make them turn on you. She's learned that lesson from Jenny Lawrence and Annie Hathaway.
The soft kiss to her cheek makes her nuzzles against him. She likes the way his scruff feels on her skin. She's been proud of how well she's behaving even as the vodka is making its way through her system.]
Oh, please. I've never let anything go to my head. [What a boldfaced lie, Alexis. Somewhere, David Rose feels the urge to roll his eyes for no reason.] Do they still say that chant for you at games? Even though you're a coach now?
[She likes watching people on stage as they skin. There's a freedom to the way they unabashedly belt or croon whatever song they've chosen. She likes that sense of free spirit. She stills when she feels his warm hand against his skin. Her lips part slightly. She was always hyper aware of the way he touches her. She's distracted. All she can focus on is how much she wants his hand to slip beneath her dress.]
I'll take your word on all things PR related. [ He says with a grin, because he is after all a PR nightmare and it's a good thing she's so skilled and knowledgeable in an area he's absolutely terrible in. ]
Only sometimes. They did it when I coached my first match along with Ted and the rest, felt pretty fucking encouraging. Usually I only hear it in settings like this where everyone's knocked back a few already.
[ As if on cue, one of the customers at the bar notices him and smiles a little drunkenly over at Roy and raises his glass. Roy raises it back with an expression that manages to convey that he's not in the mood to have a random person wander over when he's enjoying his time with Alexis in the relative privacy of their booth. Roy's scowl works, because the guy sits back down and stays put.
Which is good because right now all he wants to do is set his focus back on her and how soft her skin is beneath his hand, and the soft press of her body against the side of his. ]
How do you always smell so fucking good?
[ He answers her question with a question, dipping toward her neck and brushing his nose along the shell of her ear. His lips find her jaw and he presses slow lingering kisses there, then down to her neck. The booth they're in is set further back in club and given that it's not exactly well lit, he feels like he can get away with being more openly explorative with her than when they were in broad daylight at the park. So he tests the waters a bit, gauging her responses on if he should slow it down or keep going.
With the table providing a cover, he slides his hand further beneath the hem of her dress, fingers spreading out along the top of her thigh as he continues to kiss her neck. Where as he wants the date to end up with her in his bed later so he can explore her entirely, he can't seem to resist the temptation of her at the moment and he's doing a bad job at behaving. ]
You'll definitely hear it from me more. It's catchy! And I get to celebrate you, so it's a double whammy!
[She almost bursts into it right there when the drunk guy raises his drink to Roy. She laughs at how Roy responds. All it takes is one look, a fearsome scowl, and the man knows exactly not to go any further. It's kind of sexy. She's distracted from any other playful quips because he's nuzzling and kissing along her jaw. She gasps softly when he kisses her neck. She's always been so sensitive there.
The gasp turns into a low whimpering moan. His warm hand brushes along the inside of her thigh, making her part her legs even wider for him. She's trying to appear unaffected. Her gaze is set towards the stage, but she doesn't really see it. Her voice is a breathy sigh when she speaks.]
that gif 💀
She's wearing a velvet babydoll dress that brushes mid thigh and over the knee boots. She'd spend the last hour getting ready to one of her favorite playlists. She's already been singing and bopping along. When she hears the knock, she happily goes to answer it with a grin. When she sees Roy, she throws herself into his arms for an eager embrace.]
Hiiii!

He's equal parts excited to see her again and a little nervous. He's not usually nervous for anything and his way of dealing with it is to keep himself busy, so he after work he spent time at the gym, showered, and cleaned his house.

She drags him to the bar so they can get drinks and look through the song book.] Look at how many choices they have!
no subject
no subject
She presses into his embrace as he holds on to her. Roy wraps his arms around her waist, nestling her against his chest. He makes her feel so safe and cared for. She orders a vodka cranberry, but her focus is completely on the song book. A manicured nail goes down the list as she studies each song.]
Oooh, Don't You Want Me is a classic! Or we can do Shallow like Gaga and Bradley! We can probably even do it better honestly.
[She still owes him a live performance of A Little Bit Alexis. Poor Roy. He's really in for it once he realizes how not great she is at singing and dancing.]
a little bit alexis is going to be great lol
That's really catchy!
it's priceless
so is this entire scene!
She sings the chorus with passion, never taking her eyes off of him.]
yes!
Holy fucking shit we did it!
no subject
La la la la la la! A little bit Alexis!
i'm dying 💀
] Exceeded all of my expectations to be fucking honest, you were fucking great.
roy is such a smitten kitten
#roylexis
Been around a lot of crowds, who knew karaoke bars had the best ones.
the greatest ship name
You were wonderful! [She's insistent on that. She leans in and kisses his cheek dotingly.]
So would you want to do it again? [She waggles her brows at him.] The crowd loved you! And that chant? I didn't realize how big of a deal you are!
no subject
I think the crowd loved you more than me, but that's well earned, I didn't have a fucking original dance number to offer them.
[ He shrugs at her comment of him being a big deal. ] Around here I am, but it's mostly because this community is fucking feral about AFC Richmond. Which is great when we're winning, but they're not shy about letting us know when they think we're fucking it all up. [ Said with a chuckle, he takes it mostly in stride. It's a career that requires a certain level of tolerance for criticism, which he's pretty good with. ]
I wouldn't be surprised if people shout 'a little bit Alexis' at you after tonight.
no subject
They loved us equally. [And if they don't, she'll make up the love herself for him.] At least you know their love for you is earned, and they're not scared to let you know if you're fucking up. It's kinda like family, right?
[Her eyes light up at the thought of people singing her song to her. That sounds so cool to her. It's a level of awesome she's never quite reached in life.] You think so?
no subject
no subject
How are you always so warm?
no subject
no subject
Roy.
